The Nashville SUNN

About

The Nashville Students United News Network, or Nashville SUNN, is America’s first citywide, student-run newspaper. It’s the inaugural chapter of the national SUNN coalition, which brings together over 100 leading high school and collegiate newsrooms across 30-plus states.

Nashville SUNN is reviving civics, empowering student journalists, and protecting democracy in the Volunteer State. Through mentorship, publication, and community engagement, we’re cultivating the next generation of journalists and civic leaders.

Our citywide network includes 22 student-run newsrooms and broadcast programs and connects student reporters, illustrators, and photographers from diverse regional, political, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Nashville SUNN gives students across all of Middle Tennessee the tools and platform to report on civic life, community issues, and news here and around the country.

At the heart of our work is our continually updated publication. It’s curated by our Teen Editorial Board, which is made up of top high school and college journalists who write, select, fact-check, and edit content from across the region. Our Photography Board, made up of talented Nashville high school illustrators and photographers, drives our art direction.

Welcome to The Nashville SUNN Post, Music City’s first non-partisan student newspaper. This is where Tennessee’s citizens come of age and where the future of journalism begins.
